I was born in 1971 in Thessaloniki. I completed my basic education in the 1st High School of Thessaloniki and I graduated with honors. After taking the national entrance exams, I entered the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and I was awarded the degree and attained Second Class Honors (Upper Division).
Following the completion of my military service and my mandatory rural practice, I started my specialty in Great Britain, where I received my training in the following hospitals: Royal Sussex County Hospital – Brighton, Milton Keynes General Hospital and Royal Wolverhampton Hospital – Birmingham.
After the completion of my specialty and as part of my further training, I worked as a Fellow in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Department in the University of Virginia, Richmond USA. Moreover, I received further training and I was specialized in otology and otosurgery in two British University Hospitals, in Addenbroke’s Hospital, Cambridge and in the Institute of Laryngology and Otology, UCL, London.
In 2000, I was awarded the Diploma of Laryngology and Otology (Royal College of Surgeons of England).
In 2005, I was awarded the title of PhD in the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
